Love

…the LOVE that has LOVED us…

Hello…

Guess who’s back! Your one and only captain! Welcome on board! I am sure today’s flight will be the best one you’ll have had in months now. Let’s get moving. Ooh… wait, make sure you’ve already chosen joy even as you smile all the way…because this will be one of a kind.

I am excited about what I have to pen down. It is what I have always wanted to say… what I have longed to share, all this while… this moment. In our everyday life there are some good moments, then good-er ones(oops…what did I say!) I mean better moments…and definitely the best ones!

The thing that excites me most is the TRUTH that despite the variation of the moments, God is always good. His goodness is unstoppable. His goodness is boundless.

Father-son

Who is this God? God is our Father; God is your Father, God is my Father…He is also the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! What do we call two people who are birthed by the same father? Ummhh, you got it, right?… Great!

Now this God, our Daddy, our Papa, the creator and maker of the universe loves us; He loves you. He loves you with an everlasting love(Jeremiah 31:3). He loves you now. He has always loved you.

Actually, He was the first to show you love. He loved us when we were unlovable. He loved us when we were yet sinners, when we were dead in sin. His Love is what has made us dead to sin.

Do you know how He did this?

Join me in here so we find out on this Love of God. A love that’s too deep for words. A love that meets the deepest needs of our lives. This love is AGAPE, the self sacrificing love.

How it all started…

When Adam and Eve disobeyed God, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned(Romans 5:12). Yes, everyone sinned. How?… Well, I was also at a place where I did not understand how everyone became a sinner.

I sought for clarity from a certain minister of God, who explained to me why and how everyone became a sinner. Thank God! He gave us(the body of Christ) gifts(people who are there to equip us for the work of ministry. People to help us in our walk with and in Christ). I was helped and edified.

There is a how a small child’s teacher is different from a university lecturer, in their mode of teaching. A teacher dealing with children uses illustrations and images. She uses charts which aid the little one in understanding what he or she should. This is exactly what the gift did. He helped me understand how everyone became a sinner, and I am glad to share out.

The Nature Issue…

Here’s how…

A dog gives birth to a puppy, which is a dog. A cat gives birth to a cat. A human being gives birth to a human being. The fact that this human being (baby) cannot walk on the first day doesn’t make it less a human being, right? Why? Because walking is not what makes one a human being, but their human nature. A dog does not bark to become a dog, it barks because it is a dog.

When Adam and Eve ate the forbidden fruit, they became sinners. They had disobeyed. They acquired the nature of sin. Everyone that was born after Adam, of course in Adam’s lineage, was a sinner too.

Why? Because a sinner gives birth to a sinner, like a dog gives birth to a dog. Sin was a nature issue not an act. That’s why Romans 5:12 states that everyone had sinned…because it was the fallen man’s sinful nature. You still around? Hey!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

John 3:16 KJV

What happens when a building is on fire? An action is always taken to put out the fire…a rescue team comes in to help evacuate those stranded in the building. In case there is damage, compensation is done by an insurer. The insurer has to ensure that the worth of the building is restored fully(the principle of fidelity).

Here is what happened. After man’s fall, reconciliation was needed. The relationship between man and God needed to be restored because guilt, shame and condemnation had replaced the boldness man was to approach God in.

How was this possible? How would man be reconciled to God? A price needed to be paid so that this sin is done away with. A price was to be paid so that all of human race is forgiven…so that everyone is set free from the bondage of sin. What price would purchase all mankind?

Well, we all know that men of the old made a lot of offering;like the peace, sin… by the blood of sheep and bulls as well as burnt offering, but none of these had the cleansing power. None of these made man righteous. Moreover, this practice was to be done often. Imagine how tedious that is! For every wrong act you commit, a sheep is slaughtered…what a life!

But God, who is love(1John4:8), because of His love, gave His only begotten son Jesus as the atonement for sin. God made Christ, who knew no sin, to become sin, so we could all become His righteousness in Christ Jesus(2Corinthians 5:21). Christ paid the ultimate price, once and for all.

When He said that it was finished, He meant it, that sin was a done deal. And now, as long as Christ is your Lord and Savior, sin can never be your master. Christ truly set you free for freedom(Galatians 5:1). Remember that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

Oh, what manner of love this is! Imagine how much God loves you, He gave His only begotten Son so that He would take away all the sin of the world. By this, you have access to Him… He is never far from you… When you call Him He hears. This Love of God is what brought about our forgiveness. This very love of God is what has set us free!

Choose to walk in the love of God always. Daily remind yourself that God loves you unconditionally. Stop trying to earn the Love of God. He already loves you. Simply receive and enjoy it. Bask in His love, soak in it and let it saturate your all.

Thank you!
